How we handle intellectual property and takedown requests.
Restorix is a website recovery service for site owners. It exists to help you restore your own website — content you own or have rights to use — from public web archives such as the Wayback Machine. Typical customers are recovering their own lost site after a hosting lapse, a hack, a botched migration, or an agency that disappeared. Restorix is not a tool for copying, cloning, or scraping third-party websites.
By using Restorix you confirm that for every domain you restore, you own the domain or the content, or you have permission from the rights holder. Restoring content you have no rights to may infringe copyright and is prohibited by our Terms of Service. We may ask you to verify domain ownership before a restore is delivered.
If you are a copyright owner (or authorized to act for one) and believe material restored through Restorix infringes your rights, email [email protected] with the subject "Takedown" and include:
We review complete notices within 2 business days. Where a claim is valid we disable access to and remove the material, and we notify the customer who requested the restore. Write to [email protected].
If your restore was removed or disabled in error, you may send a counter-notice to [email protected] explaining why you are entitled to the content (for example, proof of domain ownership or a license). We restore access when the claim is resolved in your favor.
Accounts that repeatedly restore third-party content without rights are suspended, and pending restores are cancelled with a refund to balance.
